Windows 10 Creators Update has an official release date of April 11, but in reality it will roll out in waves. April 11 marks the day automatic downloads begin. Do not expect all million Windows 10 users to get the Creators Update at once. I can almost hear the servers beg for mercy. This download assumes you already have a license to install Windows You can download the update directly to your PC or create installation media.
I'll plan on going the "update assistant" route, and getting it tomorrow. I have my little cheapie two-in-one on the insider program on the Fast ring. But I'm leery of following suit on my gaming PC daily driver. I know I'd probably be safe to put it on the insider program on the Release ring, but so far I've just kept it off of insider altogether.
Thanks for the warning. I'll not be booting into Win 10 - on the 1 machine here that actually has it installed - for a couple of months. Give them time to get everything fixed. I have no pressing need for any of this. Does anyone know at what time exactly we can start using update assistant to update.
Just ran the Update Assistant on my SP4. Still no CU. I'll try again after 9 PST. It's almost 6 April, still no updates. I downloaded the Media creation tool the iso is available just tried to upgrade now but got an error File bcd error code my laptop isn't booting to Windows now. I'll try repair the bcd.
I downloaded Win 10 Creators Update using the Update Assistant Tool but when it prompted me to install it, I was doing some office work. So, I decided to go for "restart later" option.
And now, I've restarted my laptop once and there's no sign of update installation. Is there any way to install that update or I will have to download it all over again? I have an Ississue with the assistent. I get the message that i need to update my PC, then that it's downloading and preparing updates, But then it doesn't move on the next step, where it asks for restart; but instean it puts me back on beginning.
Which is picture 3 here in the article. ANd then it downloads updates again, and again. Anyione had issues with this? And same thing is with the Media Creation Tool. It downloads and prepares updates and then puts me back at the beginning where it sayst there are updates available. The exact same thing happened to me too. Windows updates are such a pain.
